Water Damage?

Water damage is one of the most common problems that a homeowner will ever experience. If a pipe bursts in your home or a sudden rainstorm causes flash flooding, you could suffer serious water damage. A prompt response is the key to reducing or eliminating damage when in occurs.

If not attended to in a timely manner secondary damage starts to set in quickly which is why Great Northern Resources is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Some examples of secondary damage include:
  • Mold spores start to colonize within 48 hours
  • Hardwood floors start to buckle
  • Plaster and sheetrock sag and crack
  • Transfer stains occur due to wood and metal furniture, especially antique, staining carpeting
  • Tarnishing of uncoated metal surfaces.
  • Uncoated metal surfaces begin to rust.
  • Door and window casings swell and warp or split
  • Discoloration of furniture
  • Electronic components may malfunction.
  • Health Hazards associated with Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) becomes an issue

Our IICRC -backed team is prepared to respond to emergency water damage any time day or night and will walk you through the process so you know what to expect.

The Process
Flood restoration starts with extracting all of the water from your home. This process includes using high suction wet dry vacuums and industrial based dehumidifiers to remove both surface water and anything that has been absorbed into fabrics and wood. We will then remove any items that are not salvageable and considered a loss by your insurance company. Items that can be saved are cleaned and hand dried by our internal specialist team. When necessary we will replace and repair any structural elements that were damaged by the water including drywall and carpet. We also repaint the area and restore your personal items to their pre-disaster state.

What Should I do?

Call us as soon a disaster strikes! We will respond immediately and send one of our professional experienced estimators out to your property to assess the damage and write a free estimate. We will continue to work with your insurance provider until your property has been fully restored to pre-loss condition.
